brokeback mountain

i have seen a lot of reviews of the film even before it was shown in the theaters. and i have waited for the time when i have actually seen the movie.

i have read the short story by proulx months ago. and hell, yeah, the written version had me weeping while reading it, even in those not-so-emotional moments. guess im really sappy...

when i have seen the movie, it was like looking through the glass. it was like a reality gone through a wormhole (in hawking's terms). i have not expected myself to cry in the movies as i did while reading the short story. but what could i do? it was really moving.

seeing those two actors giving life to my presumably "gay love heroes" was something i can't just let pass by, especially a movie of this kind.

i agree with one of the reviews after it was shown at the montreal film festival. it's not about a movie about gays. or gay love. it's a movie about "love". and love encompasses all.

while watching the movie, i felt my poetic juices flow incessantly. the scenes, the lines, the music, the characters...

if i haven't read the story first, i might have went out of the theaters to have some time off, to cry and dry the rivers of my eyes off. yeah, im so sappy.

i loved the film. it will take some time for me to watch it again. i can still feel my heart pounding everytime i think of the scene when ennis was taking his and jack's shirts onto his chest. gosh, i can't just take my eyes off him!

this film made me believe that yes, love encompasses everything.
