twang!

In a country where english is not a measure of a person's social status, it is more comfortable to sit in a first-class restaurant or gold-class moviehouse without the test for language proficiency as opposed to my hometown where it is an imperative for almost everyone who seeks acceptance in the urban setting.

The real catch is not that skin-deep, though. Whereas the Filipinos boast of their english-speaking citizens, other Asian countries have better advantage in practicing their cultural, sociological and commercial oneness than dividing the classes into those who orders their iced or blended coffee with a western twang.
